Astoria Lodge was upgraded during 2018. Originally, it was used as Therapy Rooms for massage, reflexology, etc, as part of a Health Shop. When the Health Shop closed, planning permission was obtained to convert both the shop and the Therapy Centre into living accommodation. As part of the planning conditions, we had to make the two small Therapy Rooms into one bedroom, and increase the living space by adding an extra room, as an extension to the front of the building. This room overlooks the small wildlife pond, where a variety of birds can be seen bathing and drinking!
In October 2021, the private garden was extended into a further area, creating a step up to another patio area, enlarging the garden!
Location
Astoria Lodge is well located, in the central, historic village of St. Peter's, Broadstairs, Kent. There is a village pub, opposite the church, called The Red Lion.
The village has a Co Op supermarket, beside the Village Green, which you can walk to, in 10 minutes, through the scenic route of Mockett's Wood. There is also an excellent butcher's shop in St. Peter's High Street, a chemist near the Red Lion Pub, and a fish and chip shop.
Astoria Lodge Facilities
Astoria Lodge was built double walled, with 10cm of insulation between them, so it generally stays warm in the winter and cool in the summer. It has individual electric wall heaters, and an air conditioning unit for use in extra hot summer weather. Hot water is supplied from an instant gas hot water boiler. Free WiFi is available. Towels and linen are provided.
Kitchen
Fully Equipped Kitchen with 4 ring Induction Hob, electric fan oven, electric kettle, toaster, slow cooker, 6 cup cafetiere, fridge freezer, washing machine, microwave and CD radio player, fire blanket and extinguisher.
The Bedroom has a double bed with Silentnight memory foam mattress and a single chair bed. The built in wardrobes have ample hanging space, wooden clothes hangers and shelves. Inside it, there is an iron and ironing board, folding airer, clothes pegs, a small security box with a key, a shoe rack, vacuum cleaner, hair dryer, shower mat, clothes brush and First Aid box. There is a small wash basin in the corner with a cabinet above it. The Smart TV in the bedroom has a Firestick, loaded with Internet TV to enable you to watch all your favourite channels and a vast selection of films.
Bed and TV
The Lounge area has Internet TV through a box for watching all your favourite channels, sport, films, etc. There is an aircon unit, heater, twin USB charging sockets and a nest of tables.

The Bathroom boasts a Hydrotherapy Bath, with an electric shower over it, and a one person Infrared Sauna! It has a washbasin and a towel heater. The toilet is separate, and has a small washbasin.

The Garden Room has a laptop space with Ethernet wired internet access, and some chairs and folding table.
The Garden has a decked area, with wooden table and chairs, for sunshine from mid morning through to the evening! There is a pull-out under cover clothes line, as well as a fixed clothes line by the small wildlife pond. A second table and chairs are positioned to catch the sun early in the morning!
The Private Parking Space is directly behind Astoria Lodge, on the paved area. The parking on the tarmacked area is allocated to the houses behind. Extra private parking is available, however, just around the corner.
